Saffron Tour in Sicily

Immerse your soul in the traditions of the Sicilian countryside.

Discover the ritual of ‘oro rosso‘ picking. Saffron is so called ‘red gold’ for its special characteristics.

Thanks to Giulio, our farmer friend, you will learn all the secrets of this rare flower, which needs a very specific climate and soil in order to grow.

You will help picking it and learn how to extract the stigma from the flowers.

Afterward, you will taste typical Sicilian dishes made with saffron by our chef Angelo… together with some good wine, of course!

We recommend doing this route during the flowering period, which takes place in the latter half of October and the first part of November.
